U14-U15 How to manage the passage in the large land

U14-U15 comment gérer le passage au grand terrain ?

U14-U15 How to manage the transition to the large land? This is the big problem in this category: going from a small land to a great one. Your players must put themselves based on new reference parameters and new game phases. This step can be very complicated. To help your players and help you have created a new 5 -week training cycle for this category. He left Thursday and was imagined and written by Mathieu Ricciul already author of two cycles on the site. I suggest you read its introduction. After an exercise on the occupation of the width and another on the use of the width, discover this new cycle.

«The management of the team block» … This is a recurring theme in football …

But how to work it? From which category is it wise to face this problem?

I asked myself these two questions when I took care of young people at the football school (reduced football) or during training (11 -a -side football). I noticed, like you, of course, that the transition from football has reduced to football «Greater» It could present concern and precisely on this issue.

In fact, the transition from category U13 to U14-U15 is generally accompanied by a loss of bearings with our young players. In fact, the ground is growing in length and width, the number of players per team increases … in short, let’s move on to the big land!

This notion of «Team Bloc» It must be redesigned and therefore reworked taking into account all the differences. Before humbly presenting a 5-week cycle to develop this theme on the field in the U14-U15 category, it seems important to me to define the defining the «Team Block».

THE «Block» It refers to the notions of density, compactness. In football, this challenges us on the distances between each player for each line, on the spatial organization of all players in other words of the team. A first step would therefore be to find a rational organization aimed at obtaining optimal distances between each player in his team compared to space but also compared to the opposing team.

Once this organization has been found, it would be wise to be interested in players’ travel so that the coordination of individual movements can produce a harmonious and effective collective choreography.

Where and how to place my players on the field? For that? These questions will be the common thread of our first cycle on this theme of «Team Block».

So that the sessions offers remain simple and adapted to the interested public, I made the choice to direct the objectives of my session. In fact, the cycle frame must allow my players to give meaning to what they do, step by step.

Therefore, approaching work in this form seems coherent to me:

I explain my approach to you:

It is obvious that 5 weeks of work will not be enough to perfectly control the «Team Block». This requires permanent reminders in training processes for each new cycle. Starting to work a new theme does not mean forgetting what was working in the previous weeks, on the contrary that nothing is juxtaposed that everything is tied …!

So I started postulate that my young U14-15 players discovered the «Great land And he had difficulty finding himself in this new space. The first week is therefore dedicated to the organization. Where to put yourself on the field at the post? How to sit down to each other? Which organization will this new land optimally occurs to me optimally? To answer this last question, I choose an organization in 4-4-2. In fact, two lines of 4 players seem to me the most suitableIn this first stepTo rationally occupy the ground in length and especially in width.

Once the organization has been identified, I decide in the following weeks of working on the heights at 3 blocks: high, median and low. Don’t forget my philosophy! In training, long -term work and I do immediate results. The idea in these 3 weeks is to bring elements to my players on the 3 heights of the blockade, their interests, their limits and the travels of the players. I’m not based on the characteristics of my opponents next weekend. I am trying to present and teach my young players in training of certain football bases, including the «Team Bloc» It is an integral part. Once these notions integrated by my players, I would put them in individual and collective reflection so that they are actors in their learning.

Example : «The opposing team is used to exercise median pressure and has quick attackers who take depths» …The desirable answer would be: «We perform a low block so that our opponents make a higher pressure, whether it is the attack placed with a very small deep depth for their attackers … so that they can enjoy a recovery of the low ball and exploit defensive transitions (counterattacks) !!» »» »» »» »» »» »» »» »» »» «»

Obviously, this answer will only be possible in the medium term, after several weeks of hard work!

5th The week is used to insist on the limits of each block. In this way, I want my players to take a critical look at the different blocks. Players must be aware (from U14) that each block, depending on its height, has areas of weakness that must be known so as not to be deceived by our opponents. Knowing the weaknesses of what we can implement should allow us to be awake, vigilant on the things not to do or anticipate what our opponents can produce to deceive us …

We keep in mind that «The Team Block» is a complex theme that will take a long time. I chose to specify this notion in U14-U15 knowing that some game principles have been discussed in the lower categories. To be fully effective, this work must be deepened in post -training and the elderly. A job on «The Team Block» is the duration, the tests and patience are therefore essential because the results will not be immediately visible …
