Similar transfer battle for Crystal Palace after Eze

Crystal Palace are preparing to receive several loan offers for a promising young winger prospect at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles have started the season well with one win and two draws in their first three games.

Last night’s 3-0 away win against Aston Villa was a solid performance which brought with it a win and bragging rights for their fans who had to wait this summer for signings.

Winger Yeremy Pino has finally joined the club, after a long wait for reinforcements, but the £25 million signing has had to settle for a place on the bench at Villa Park.

This follows the Ebere Eze transfer saga in which Arsenal eventually signed the England international for almost £64 million. It was a movement that took several twists and turns throughout the summer.

Spurs wanted Eze before he joined the Gunners, but there is now a second situation which could echo the 27-year-old’s eventual exit.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is coveted by Celtic and Rangers

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, 22, a highly regarded all-rounder at Palace, is yet to break into the first team under Oliver Glasner.

This could mean a loan move is cleared before tonight’s deadline, with many clubs interested in the young English talent.

Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers are seriously interested in the player and have reportedly already made formal loan offers to the player and the club.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have already added Michel Ange Balikwisha but need more options on the flanks.

Rangers, meanwhile, had already agreed a £10 million deal for Rak-Sakyi before the project was scrapped.

However, they face increased competition for the player, with Leicester City set to welcome him on loan to the King Power Stadium.

Other clubs want Rak-Sakyi on loan

And there is further interest, if reports from France are to be believed, with Lyon one of four teams looking to add Rak-Sakyi to their squad for next season.

Rak-Sakyi has been on the bench for the Eagles so far this season against Fredrikstad in the Conference League play-offs and in the Premier League.

He didn’t come on as a substitute against Chelsea on matchday one, but his appearance shows that he is well regarded at his club.

It remains to be seen where the creative offensive player will play this season. But he is unlikely to be at the Palace with so many interested parties.

We understand that West Brom and Southampton have already tried, and failed, to sign him in permanent transfer attempts.

Conlusion

Crystal Palace find themselves in an encouraging yet delicate position as the new season begins to take shape. A strong start—marked by one win and two draws in the opening three matches—has provided stability and confidence within the squad. The emphatic 3-0 away victory against Aston Villa not only delivered three valuable points but also strengthened belief among supporters who had patiently awaited meaningful summer reinforcements. Performances like that suggest a team growing in cohesion, discipline, and ambition.

At the same time, the club’s willingness to entertain loan offers for a promising young winger highlights the balancing act between immediate competitiveness and long-term development. Palace appear determined to manage their squad strategically, ensuring that emerging talents gain the right opportunities—whether at Selhurst Park or elsewhere—without stalling their progression. Loan moves can offer vital first-team experience, particularly when competition for places intensifies.

The arrival of Yeremy Pino for £25 million underlines that competition. After a prolonged wait for attacking reinforcements, his signing signals intent and ambition from the club hierarchy. However, his initial role on the bench at Villa Park demonstrates that integration takes time. Adapting to the Premier League’s pace and physical demands is rarely instantaneous, and patience will be required from both the player and supporters.

Ultimately, Crystal Palace’s early-season trajectory reflects thoughtful squad management. By combining promising youth, calculated recruitment, and solid performances on the pitch, the club appears to be building a sustainable foundation. The coming weeks will reveal whether this momentum can evolve into consistency, but the signs point toward a side positioning itself for steady growth rather than short-lived success.
